The City of Byako. A bustling place of immeasurable size and much busynessness. Among those individuals walking along the streets was a young boy with long floppy ears who was scampering along, waving a wooden sword in the air as he went.

His name was Raliho Magiccuddlybunnysworth and he was a young lad with a love of adventure in all of its forms and an imagination just as vast. He didn't have a lot of his own experiences yet but he possessed a mighty spirit of courage and determination~

But at the moment, the young Raliho was not on a grand adventure. Well, unless you asked him anyway. Instead, Raliho was on his way home from music classes. His fanceh trumpet sitting safely in his bag for later.
Someone with some familiarity towards Raliho might be surprised that the wee child with a head only for adventure would even play an instrument, much less take lessons in its use. However Raliho's parents were very devoted to the wee bunneh siblings and thus made sure they had the mightiest of educations for their vast futures!

Plus those very adventures Raliho was always absorbing had a number of adventurous heroes who played instruments and thus, Raliho wanted to do the same to carve his path towards adventure!
One hasn't seen adventurous children until one has seen Raliho charging down with trumpet blazing.

At the moment, Raliho was a little lost. Well, he knew the street he was on at the moment however it did not tell him very much since it was supposed to be a couple blocks away.

Byako being the annoyingly odd city that it is, had city blocks, streets and even individual buildings shift around now and then, making city landmarks unreliable to gauge your location on.
Now and then people would try using the powers of higher thinking to understand this process and find a pattern in the shifting streets, attempts that always failed, as if the city was aware of people observing it and going out of its way to spite those who tried to understand it.

And so, Raliho wandered about aimlessly as he looked around for some sort of help. Stopping to run up to one such familiar stand. A curtain of snow seemed to fall around it with a sort of bubble around the food cart itself that Raliho approached.

Climbing up into a seat, Raliho grinned up at the kindly vendor as he stuffed the wooden sword back into his bag and pulled out a brightly colored wallet that was attached to the inside of the bag by a curly string.
Opening it, Raliho mouthed the numbers as he counted up what he had to make sure he could afford it and then ordered a dessert burger~
"I want the mighty dessert burger to aid me in my journey~" Raliho said, trying to sound as mighty as the heroes he idolizes.

The vendor seemed to nod without nodding and began to prepare the magnificent delight despite a lack of limbs.
His name was Moony and he was indeed a mystery. Nobody but maybe Moony himself knew his origins and even less about said moon cactus himself. All that was known is that whenever someone was in trouble and in need of food, Moony would be there with his marvelous grill cart to save the day if you can pay.
He never spoke though people seemed to understand him. He never moved yet seemed to get around. He lacked limbs and seemed to be simply a cactus tucked neatly inside of a parka yet he grilled the most delicious of meats and fruits to his customers enjoyment.

And so, Raliho set the money on the counter and was in less than a minute, given the dessert burger. A delightful example of grilled cuisine consisting of sweet grilled sliced pinapples, oranges and apples with whip cream and a rich chocolate-like confection sitting between two bread buns.

The young bunny boy picked up the delightful dish from its plate and nommed away with much gusto, commenting on how good it was between mouthfuls.
"Ish goooooood!" Raliho mumbled, not giving himself more than a moment of mouth emptiness before grabbing another savory bite.

As Raliho devoured the dessert burger with a glee that would have impressed your average hungry adventurer, a ginmormous white bear with a curiously shaped tricone hat sat down on the bench beside him, ordering a a steak sandwich.

His name was Dling Aling and he was a household name.
In a city like Byako where the geography constantly changes and lacks a predictably pattern, the only solution is word of mouth or thanks to a certain someone, constantly updating maps of the local geography taken every day.
The one responsible for this great feat was none other than Dling Aling himself. A simple bear from a remote mountain villiage nestled within Byako's borders, Dling traveled to the bigger city and after some adventure, came to have his talents realized.

Dling was in possession of a keen eye and a sense for detail. This combined with an artistic flair allowed him to create highly detailed maps.
Later, with the help of his partner the paper mage Morrigan, Dling succeeded in mass producing his maps to the people and over time recruited a vast group of map makers, expanded the area of constantly mapped influence until the cartographers guild could be relied on throughout the city.

Finishing his nummy food, Raliho grinned and turned in his seat, his legs hanging in the air as he paused in his drop, having noticed and recognized the burly bear beside him.
"Oh! Are you mister Dingaling?"
Raliho asked, mispronouncing his name into something more memorable.

Dling paused, half of his steak sandwich left uneaten in his hands as he heard the question.
"GHAHAHAHAHA~" The large bear laughed loudly and slapped his knee. "Yah. Dat would be me. How can I help you young man?" He asked, speaking in a thick Russian accent.

Raliho stared at him in awe, struck by how adventurer he sounded at that moment. "Umm…" He started, forgetting his track of mind. "I…Can't find my way home and the uh, area changed…" He said with a bit of hesitation, not up to being super mighty and heroic in front of actual boisterous individuals who he so admired.

Dling grinned and patted young Raliho on the head, careful to avoid his horns. "Ah~ and you wvant a map of the area eh?" Dling opened up a should bag filled with sheets of paper and rolled up maps and rifled through it until he found a copy of his recent mapping of the area and pulled it out.

"Here you are youngster!" Dling offered. But then a thought struck him and he unrolled it. Examining his map, Dling pulled out a pen with a quill-like appearance and marked a big 'X' in red.

"And now its also a treasure map!"
He declared, making Raliho stare wide eyed and open mouthed in awe struckery.
"Now get home before its dark okay?" He told Raliho sternly as he handed it to the bunny boy.

"Yes!" Raliho said a bit louder than intended. Taking a moment to recover from his idol worship, Raliho nodded and hopping off of the bench, he struck a pose pointing southward. "I shall head east towards the setting sun and uncover treasure and be home before dark!"

Dling laughed heartily at this and took a moment to explain that the sun sets westward and points out which direction east was and finally that he needed to head north after some exchanger over where Raliho lived.

And thus, Raliho struck off for adventure, pausing only to open up his bag and take out a false beard and fancy helmet which he donned in an effort to look more impressive.
Now, he was properly outfitted and was ready to head to his destination…That shiny red X on the map and the treasure that was there!

And thus, onlookers would look on as a small kid with a blatantly fake beard ran down the sidewalk with a fist raised in the air (pausing for a little bit to skip through a game of hopscotch on the ground)
That is, until Raliho came to this big crowd in the middle of the street that seemed quite intent on something.

Curious, The young rabbit snuck between peoples and crawled under legs and other clever adventurous maneuvers until he was at the front of the big crowd which was encircling a curious scene. A handful of suspects were standing around nervously with a cart stacked full of barrels which seemed to be important.

Walking back and fourth before the handful of people was a blue tundra swan dressed haphazardly in sandals, a hoodie, a colorful vest worn over it and a pair of large spectacles perched on the end of his beak precariously.  and behind him was an average looking young girl whose nose was in a book but her eyes were on the scene in front of her.

The bird man was Greene Showe, detective for the Byako City Watch. He is a well renowned personage in his mid thirties who with a hazy memory of his past, wound up joining the city watch and became a great detective who always solves the case!
He accomplishes this through the use of his fanceh magical abilities (even if his memory is so bad that he rarly remembers the same set of spells from day to day and sometimes forgets vital details of the case he is on)

And the girl was none other than his niece, Dime Democles, his assistant who herself wanted to be a great detective one day. She always followed him on a case and was ever around when the case was solved.

The current case was nothing less than an epic DM smuggling ring! A contraband so terrible that it boggled the mind!
Thanks to Greenes magical abilities of the day he was able to deduce that the ring leader was one of the people gathered on this very street and with nothing else in his bag of tricks to work with, he used his brilliant deductive mind to solve the case!

"Now examining the evidence and gathering the clues only one of you was the umm…" Greene paused and looked at his notepad. "The ringleader."
Greene scratched the back of his head, trying to recall the other details. Due to his poor memory he suffered from moments like this where his memory would just swim away.

While Greene was doing this, the young Dime glanced over to the barrels, one of which contained DM's and to the host of suspects gathered before her uncle.
In truth, Dime was working out the case herself and trying to solve the mystery. Dime expressed a great interest in crime solving and baddie catching and her uncle Greene always brought her along to help her become a great detective when she was older.

Greene was right now informing them of the bits and pieces of evidence he gathered up in pursuit of the truth and was just about to reveal the criminals identity when he felt a tugging on his sleeve. Looking down, he saw it was none other than Dime.

"Can  I have some candy uncle Greene?" She asked innocently enough.

Greene grinned and patted her on the head. "Certainly my dear." He said, handing her his notebook as he fished through his kit for one of the many lollipops he carries on his person to hand to small children. Greene on top of his wishy washy memory was the sort who would drop everything to do something for his niece.

While he was doing so, Dime pulled a pencil from her pocket and reading his conclusion, she crossed out a few things, jotted down some more stuff and included on the next page some evidence that he missed and flipped back to the original page just as Greene's hand closed on a handful of suckers and pulling one out, he handed it to Dime.

"Here you go Dime" He said, handing her the sucker and patting her on the head.

"Thank you uncle Greene." Dime said sincerely, handing him back his notebook.

"Now lets see…" Greene read through his notepad, trying to find his place, not noticing as Dime snuck the sucker back into his bag.

Continuing more or less from where he left off, Greene promptly declared that one of the individuals was….uninvolved in the whole affair. The declaration was a bit of a surprise, particularly to Greene who couldn't remember how he came to that conclusion but continued reciting his deductions, naming two people as the ones behind the whole affair and naming some other pieces of evidence that he must have written down out of order.

The nare do wells were promptly arrested, the contraband confiscated and with a little prompting the crowd was dispersed after witnessing another one of Greene Showes brilliant deduction~

Among the crowd was a curious organ grinder lacking a monkey who looked quite annoyed by the whole affair.

Unbeknownst to the onlookers or even the cities guardians of law and order, this was none other than Fox Plushie, a reputable businessman by day and a criminal mastermind by…Well, also day. But he was more secretive about it.
Technically he never actually did anything illegal that could be proven. But that was because he his behind so many puppets and false identities that it was impossible to connect him with anything.
He reveled in the profits gained from smuggling, fencing, information brokering and arranging 'meetings' between various individuals of Byako's  sprouty criminal underworld~

Fox Plushie was a wicked fellow whose true and only love was money and was determined to gather as much of it as possible be it through legal or criminal means. His obsession was so great that he would even play sim games for the express purpose of gathering more and more money.

He was currently cursing detetctive Greene Showe who managed to strike a blow against his devious smuggling ring and string up one of his more clever smuggling routes.

He was so caught up in his silent cursing that he was not paying attention to where he was going and wound up bumping into young Raliho who wobbled to the side and accidently bumped into another individual who stood frozen in place with a count down hanging suspended over his head.

Raliho righted himself and following his map, gallivanted off to his treasure as the time counted down, granting the bystander mobility again.

-=-
After a mighty journey through the bustling Byako streets and occasional pauses for directions from helpful adults. Such as Miles Guardia, head of the city watch and champion frowner from a hundred paces off.  Raliho finally reached his destination.

The bunny boy stared in open awe at the balloons and the giant sign that said in big gold letters 'Free hand puppets!  One per child!'
This was indeed a great treasure that the map led him too! The fact of which made Raliho jump up and down in glee, his false beard hanging crookedly from the excited bouncing.

Running up to the stand, Raliho asked for a free puppet and received a wizardy one with a staff and a glass ball~
Raliho spun away merrily and began playing with his puppet when he saw a young boy dressed as a monkeh playing with a turtle puppet alongside a large white monkey covered in metal bits~

"Miss Roro~ Jup~" Raliho ran over and greeted the two of them.

"Hello dere Raliho." Roro said in greeting and Jup smiled and waved in greetering.
"How is Raliho today?" The motherly monkey matron asked as Jup ran forward and did a little dance in the middle of the street with Raliho, holing aloft his own free puppet, a spidercrab with a giant happy grin and  wiggly legs~

Raliho laughed merrily as he managed to multi-task enough to play with Jup while responding to miss Roro's question.  "Im doing great! Adventure is finding me wherever I go!"
Raliho stated with much merriment and enthusiasm.

Roro nodded, pleased that Jup and his friend were having such a good time.

They were both friends Raliho made during past adventures and he was quite glad to see them. Hours passed by as Raliho spoke of his great adventures and the silent Jup listened intently, miming his excitement at the especially amazing bits as Roro watched in amusement and joined in now and then much to the childrens delight.

It was as the trio were walking along the park towards the playground of a nearby park when a sneaky figure jumped the trio and had them at her mercy!

The sneaky figure being none other than….Cossi the terrific tailor! A living legend with a needle and thread who created whole wardrobes of clothing umatched anywhere in all of Byako! A bemusing person who is notorious for her habit of when inspiration strikes, grabbing the inspiring individual and (with no charge) creating for them an entirely new outfit to suit her current mood!

And thus before the trio could protest overmuch, they were donning splendiferous attire~

Roro was wearing a fancy dress-ish outfit with a lot of streamery tassles in all manner of blues, reds and violets.

Jup was dressed up in a pair of leafy shorts, shirt and bonnet-like thing that upon a more overall inspection was a costume modeled after an absurdly literal 'Snap dragon'

And Raliho last of all was wearing the adorablest kitty costume with ginormnous padded paws and kitty ears~

Cossi inspected the three of them who were still a bit bewildered from the sudden cosplay assault and clapped her hands then hopped up and down in glee.
"You look marvelous~" She pinioned, putting away her materials and pulling out a camera, walked around the three of them and took a number of pictures in memory of the amazing apparel she put together.

And with a 'toodles~' Cossi was gone, disappearing into the streets of Byako wherever inspiration might take her.

The trio looked at one another and shrugging, continued on towards the play area for fun.
A random short story I did while working on the raliho vs jup thing and is set sometime after it XD
